“We Are the Romantic Ones” is an emotive art exhibition that delves into the intersection of nostalgia, idealism, and contemporary romanticism. Curated as an ongoing pop-up by INNOCNTS, the show features diverse works from a mix of friends.

At its heart, the exhibition examines the resilience of emotion and desire in an age of technology, alienation, and social fragmentation. Inspired by the Beautiful Losers movement of the 90s and early 2000s, it seeks to reimagine romanticism—not as mere nostalgia, but as a force pushing back against society, digital overload, and political instability.

Through painting, photography, collage, drawing, and sculpture, the artworks combine idealized romantic imagery with the grit of modern life, exploring themes of rebellion, innocence, and love. The exhibition invites viewers to reflect: Can we still afford to dream, or have we become too jaded?

With support from the local ELA community, we’re excited to collaborate with @esquina.bicycleshop, who will be hosting a group bike ride ending at the gallery. And what would a Whittier Blvd happening be without lowriders? A big shoutout to @lanee_vibes and @vinsunhiphop for organizing a modest lowrider cruise that will also finish at the gallery.
