Cadalack Ron At Innocnts Gallery

Hollywood's Cadalack Ron recently had an art show and performance at the Innocnts Gallery in Los Angeles. Caddy never holds back with his expression and always keeps it real. Check the video below to see how things went down.

Cadalack Ron, The GG Allin of hip hop came to the Innocnts Gallery recently with a special night of art and music. We let him spray paint a mural and post up all his accumulated artwork on the walls which created a pretty raw vibe. Caddy invited his friend Jesse whom he met in rehab some years back to play guitar while he rapped. Townes Van Zandt

"A lot of performers out there have played the role of 'the Lonesome Drifter,' but Townes is the only one I know who was the genuine article. He was like a man from another time...Townes never got the luxury of standing ovations when he came out with a new song. His songs are like new shoes. You have to wear them a while before they really feel like they belong to you." -Steve Hawley

Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr. Townes Van Zandt.

Marco Zamora At Innocnts Gallery

We had a great evening at Innocnts Gallery last Thursday with Marco Zamora and friends. Marco's newest series of mixed media paintings were utterly on point with extreme detail beyond comprehension. There was a strong contingent of LA based art school alumni in attendance which made for some great conversation and even better vibes. Much appreciation to Pabst Blue Ribbon for supplying the booze and a huge thanks to the art patrons who purchased work. We had a great evening and appreciate everyone's involvement!

___ships_ / Jiliann Wierenga

One of the clearest memories I have of a certain ex-boyfriend of mine is the way his forearm looked in the sun, one day eight or so years ago, while on a farm in the French countryside.  I had a dream once that I was someone else, and I was thinking of me; this someone else hadn't seen me in a long time, so the details of my face in his memory were shadowy.  ___ships_ is a play on these two experiences, and a personal exploration into the fugue of memory.

Rafafans

To Spanish Creative Director and Graphic Designer Rafafans, it's all about the little things.  His collage work relies on the minute, banal texture of objects to create exquisite form, a form that speaks a Surrealist narrative to those inclined to listen.

Cold Cave X Gary Numan

A beautiful, black-clad crowd came out to Portland's Wonder Ballroom last night to partake in an electrifying electronic evening, courtesy of LA-based danceable Darkwave minimalists Cold Cave and Synth-Pop legend Gary Numan.  I staked out stage-side real estate for both acts, and was glad I did; all aforementioned performers have a real, palpable on-stage presence best experienced through near-proximity.

With one last joint show on the roster (Oakland's Metro Operahouse) and upcoming tour dates with other acts (Cold Cave with Nitzer Ebb's Douglas J. McCarthy, Numan with Nine Inch Nails), catch either group in a town near you.

Willis Earl Beal

It don't mean shit if it ain't got passion. Chicago native Willis Earl Beal definitely isn't lacking any of that. His music his heavy felt with feeling and emotion. Soulful nostalgia updated to fit the modern times. Heard Willis on a local LA radio station recently and immediately related. Aside from the music thing, Willis is also a great artist and storyteller. Have a listen to his work below and keep an ear to the scene for more from this talented young man.
