Kazimir Malevich // Suprematism

Kazimir Malevich, born this month in 1878, was one of the pioneers of abstract art. In December 1915, Malevich unveiled a radically new mode of abstract painting that abandoned all reference to the outside world in favor of colored geometric shapes floating against white backgrounds. Because his new style claimed supremacy over the forms of nature, he called it “Suprematism.”

John Lennon's 63' Gretsch

John Lennon’s Gretsch 6120 Chet Atkins Nashville model hollow body guitar is currently up for auction. A historically important instrument from the personal collection of John Lennon, used and photographed during the Paperback Writer session's held at EMI studios. It's reported to go for about 1 million. Not really that big of a deal.
